I'm a bit of a cycling nut, and since leaving university I have set myself a few long distance challenges with the aim of raising as much as I can for charity in the process.
My chosen charity is Macmillan Cancer Support, whose nurses support and care for those suffering from cancer. The work they do is simply amazing and the care they provide extends beyond care for patients; practical, emotional and financial support is offered to friends, family and colleagues as well.
I believe that the key to beating cancer is not just about the right medicines, but with the right support. Kind support from my friends, family and even complete strangers helped me get cycle America under my own steam, and its this support that keeps everyone going, no matter the challenge ahead. Macmillan nurses provide that very support to people and their families when they're facing the biggest challenge of them all.
